About
I'm a writer and editor who originally embarked on a field biology career in Cornell University's leakiest rowboat. While studying the world's ecosystems from a variety of other conveyances (including — upgrade! — a two-masted tall ship) I morphed into an academic editor and developed a keen appreciation for clearly communicated research. Realizing how often non-scientists are left out of the loop, I undertook a graduate degree in science writing from MIT.
These days I bring science and conservation literacy to a broad audience through science writing, and I use my editing expertise to help others tackle the many-tiered challenge of working with words.
